About

Biography

Monica was born in a small town in Vestfold, Norway in 1985. From childhood Monica has had a passion for drawing, painting portraits, nature, fantasy, light and colours. Through the years she has tried different motives and mediums, but till this day oil and charcoal remains her favourite.

Her inspiration comes from nature, her emotionsand the people around her. She grew up with the forest and the countryside as her nearest nabour. She played as a child often outside and got by this a great love for the nature.

She learned about art in high school where she did art classes, but most of it is self-taught art. In her later years she work mostly with oil, and she paint the beauty that inspire and moves her most.

Art

– Paints on canvas and prefere large dimensions

– Builds up a painting with many layers of paint.

– Starts with light colours in the beginning of a painting, and then graduates to darker colours.

– Wants her art to inspire and create joy and peace.

– She love each season; Spring: representing the beginning of new life. Everything starts to grow and become colourful again. Summer: the warm sun, the different green colours and the smell of newly cut grass. Autumn: The beautiful colours on the trees. Winter: the snow. But favorite seasons is summer and autumn.

– Believes it is important to keep dreaming and take chances
